About random product photos

Random Goods is for commercial still life: objects you could sell, not a meal (Food), not a worn lookbook (Fashion), not a building (Architecture). The Unsplash search mixes clothing, shoes, cups, bottles, and cosmetics so a shop UI can look populated without your catalog.

Random goods photos for ecommerce and packaging

A rule-of-thirds overlay would grade the photographerโ€™s composition; it would not place your SKU on empty seamless paper. These frames already contain a product. Use Preview to test a price or product name in leftover negative space instead.

We do not remove backgrounds. That would mean processing Unsplash pixels on our servers. Open Original for the file, then cut out in your own editor if the license and your workflow allow.

Product photography practice

Look at how bottles, cups, shoes, and compacts take specular light on a tabletop. This is packshot study, not a cut-out studio: we will not remove backgrounds or draw a rule-of-thirds grid over the photographerโ€™s set. Open Original to inspect label type and plastic highlights.

Ecommerce and packaging design

Collection grids and PDP mockups need objects that look sellable before your SKU is shot. Preview a price in leftover negative space. Fashion is the worn look; Goods is the object on a surface. Food is the meal, not the bottle โ€” pick the page that matches the merch.

Shop blogs and unboxing posts

Draft merch newsletters and marketplace prototypes with credited stills, then replace with your packshots before a live catalog. Do not present a Unsplash bottle as your product to shoppers.

Still-life browsing

Paging cups and cosmetics is closer to walking a shop shelf than scrolling Random Nature. There is no cart and no SKU feed. If you wanted outfits on bodies, go to Random Fashion; if you wanted dishes, go to Random Food.

Where product stills help

  • Ecommerce collection grids and shopping-bag empty states.
  • Packaging or label mockups that need a bottle or compact in scene.
  • Marketplace prototypes when SKU photography is not ready.

FAQ

Can I pretend this is my product on a live store?

Not honestly. Shoppers will notice a different bottle or stitch. Use these stills in prototypes and pitch decks, then replace with your packshots.

Why Goods instead of Fashion?

Fashion on this site is clothing as editorial โ€” outfits, runway-adjacent, street. Goods is the object on a surface: a shoe as SKU, a cup as merch, a cosmetic as a pack. If the garment is worn, prefer Fashion.

Do you supply transparent PNGs?

No. Unsplash delivers photographs, usually on a set. There is no API flag for cut-outs, and we will not host processed silhouettes.

What is the color chip for on a white packshot?

Even a white-background bottle has an average HEX (often pale grey or the labelโ€™s dominant ink). Copy it for a matching UI tile, then tune in Shade Color.
